Variable Speed Pump

IntelliFloXF Variable Speed Pump ENERGY STAR Certified Eco Select The IntelliFloXF variable speed pump packs more money-saving innovations into a single pump than any other. Compared to traditional single-speed pumps, it can reduce your annual utility bill by up to $1,600*.

The difference is a breakthrough by Pentair: XF pump hydraulics. We've redesigned interior passageways and parts for smoother, more efficient operation. The IntelliFloXF pump uses less energy to deliver the flow your pool requires.

These operating hydraulic improvements are paired with Pentair IntelliFlo®Variable Speed Pump technology, a proven design that has led the revolution in pool pump efficiency. Together, these innovations give you the most advanced, smoothest-running, and most energy-efficient pump we've ever made. It's part of our Eco Select® Brand line of products, one of our "greenest" and most efficient equipment choices.

  • ENERGY STAR® Certified: meets strict energy efficiency criteria set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • Saves of up to $1,600* each year, compared to traditional pumps; even greater savings are achievable on larger pools.
  • The same energy-efficient permanent magnet motor design that makes hybrid cars so efficient.
  • 8 programmable speed settings and built-in timer assure optimum speed and run times to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
  • Plenty of power to run large residential and commercial pools with water features.
  • The quietest pump on the planet. At lower speeds, you may not even know it's operating.
  • Field-proven reliability no other variable speed brand can match.
  • Variable speed operation improves filter and chlorinator performance; helps reduce algae build-up.
  • Built-in self-diagnostics protect the pump.
  • Compatible with IntelliTouch®, EasyTouch®, and SunTouch Automation and other brands of digital pool/spa controls. When paired with an IntelliTouch or EasyTouch automation system and the ScreenLogic®interface, the IntelliFloXF pump can be controlled from an iPad®, iPhone®, or iPod touch® mobile digital device, anywhere, anytime.

Making swimmers safe is good for business - As of December 19, 2008, all operating public pools and spas must have suction outlet covers that meet the ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (2007) standard or any successor standard on every suction outlet. On July 27, 2011, the Commission unanimously approved ANSI/APSP 16-2011 as the successor suction outlet cover standard which pool operators need to follow to comply with the P&SS Act. In addition, if the pool has a single main drain or suction outlet (other than an unblockable suction outlet), the operator must install a second anti-entrapment device or system, which can be an automatic pump shut-off system, gravity drainage system, Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) or a suction-limiting vent system; or the operator can disable the drain taking into consideration the pool’s filtration system and the regulations within the particular jurisdiction.

A pool may have more than one suction outlet, but multiple suction outlets are not a requirement of the law. If a pool has dual or multiple suction outlets (per pump) that are separated by at least three feet, or located on different planes, it may be exempt from the secondary backup device or system requirement.

An unblockable suction outlet is defined in the P&SS Act as “a drain of any size and shape that a human body cannot sufficiently block to create a suction entrapment hazard.”

* Savings based on variable speed pump compared to single-speed pump running 12 hours per day at an average of $0.16 kWh in a 20,000 gallon pool. Actual savings may vary based on local utility rates, pool size, pump run time, pump horsepower, pump rpm, plumbing size and length, pump model, service factor and other hydraulic factors.
